THE WEST INDIAN STUDENT ENSEMBLE
MANDATE
The West Indian Student Ensemble (W.I.S.E.) diligently and powerfully advocates and voices the interests and issues of the West Indian and Caribbean students at the University of Ottawa. As a collective, W.I.S.E. is dedicated to the promotion of Caribbean culture throughout the University of Ottawa and beyond though collaboration between students, other clubs and associations and the community at large. W.I.S.E. ventures to enable relations among Caribbean and West Indian students through various cultural, social, academic and philanthropic events while encouraging diversity for a strong, well-rounded and united assembly.
W.I.S.E. is also a space for further self-development, not only within school borders, but throughout the wider community. This will take the form of providing avenues for members through partnerships with nonprofit organizations in the Ottawa Community. Furthermore, W.I.S.E. facilitates philanthropic and volunteer opportunities to contribute to the local community and to develop the humanitarian capacities of its members.
